Condolence: Dear Porter Family,
Ben was my Barber for over 30 years. He made me look good too. He always said something nice or nothing at all about people. He made me feel good too. I will miss his friendship the most.

Condolence From: Pat & vernelle Moore & Sons, Patrick & James
Condolence: Our sincerest condolences to you, Eva and your entire family. Ben was a dear friend and "my Barber" for over forty years! What great fun we had at "Hollis Barber Shop" with Hollis, Cox, Emory, and Ben, settling all the worlds problems! (And they say "only women" 'gossip' in beauty salons!) Ben always gave me the "business" for not tipping him, so one day I told him he had given me a "decent" haircut for the first time and gave him a dollar tip! On my next visit, I saw it framed and hanging prominently on the wall, where it remained until he retired. Ben was accomplished in many ways: his art, his profession; but, most in his talent for interacting with his fellow man. God love you, Ben, you'll be missed.

Condolence From: Annijane Richardson
Condolence: Ben & his wife Eva, were a big part of our church life at Central Baptist Church as young adults. Ben was Roland's barber and good friend for over 40 years. I will truly miss Ben's visits to Camp Woodside and will think of him every time I enjoy one of his first paintings in my home. His family is in my prayers as time heals and good memories replace sorrow!

Condolence From: Pam and Don Chandler
Condolence: Don and I have such fond memories of Ben and "the barbershop" - he was our only barber for more than 35 years and was always such a joy to talk to. He was a truly talented person both with the barber shears and also with a paint brush. I know he also loved his time "on the river" with his family - I'm sure you all made many memories over the years that you will treasure. we'll be out of town on the service date but our thoughts and prayers are and will be with all of you.
