Barbara H. Swaggerty, 83, of East Palatka, passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at Haven Hospice Roberts Care Center following an extended illness. A native of Sanford, Barbara resided in Putnam County since 1966 coming from Jarrett, Virginia. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Palatka. Over the years, Barbara had sold Tupperware and Amway in between supporting her sons in all their athletic events. She enjoyed knitting in her leisure time.
She was preceded in death by her parents, David Kirk McNab and Lucille Echols McNab, her husband, Herman L. Swaggerty, as well as a brother, Richard Kirk McNab.
Barbara is survived by 3 sons, Mike Swaggerty of East Palatka, Bill Swaggerty and wife Laura of Finksburg, MD and Kirk Swaggerty and wife Beth of Altamonte Springs, a brother, Robert McNab of Fairfax, VA and 9 grandchildren, Emily Zadok and husband Leon, Joseph Swaggerty, Amanda Swaggerty, Matthew Swaggerty, Marshall Swaggerty, Michelle Swaggerty, Andrew Swaggerty, Samuel Swaggerty and Lauren Daniels.
Services will be at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 13, 2016 at Johnson-Overturf Chapel in Palatka with Chaplain Pete Sharber officiating. Burial will follow at Palatka Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Friday from 6-8 P.M. at Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home in Palatka.
Following the services, family and friends are invited to fellowship with the family at the home of James and Linda McClarney.
