Obituary for Margaret Pruitt
Margaret Helen Pruitt, 73, of Palatka, passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at Haven Hospice Robert Care Center following an extended illness. A native of Tazewell County, Virginia, she resided in Putnam County for over 60 years coming from Richlands, Virginia. Margaret worked in customer service for many years at Winn Dixie and then with Publix where she retired. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. In her leisure time, Margaret enjoyed painting and making crafts which she would market at craft shows and festivals. She also loved watching Twilight Zone and Dark Shadows on TV.
Margaret is survived by 3 sons, Thomas M. “Mike” Crews (Peggy Ann) of Interlachen, William J. “Billy” Crews (Tami) of Palatka and Scott Ard of Palatka, her grandchildren, Heather Crews (James Lyons) of Greensboro, NC, Tom Crews of Ocala, Andrew Crews of Greensboro, NC, Tatum Crews (Josh Whisman) of St. Petersburg and Holden Crews (Erin Kennedy) of Palatka, her great-grandchildren, Ethen Crews and Isabelle Crews of Ocala and Nova Whisman of St. Petersburg, her sister and brother-in-law, Frances and Jim Bays of Palatka, beloved cousins, Allen Phipps, Martha Farmer, Polly McCallum, Renee Lamoreaux and their families as well as aunts, cousins and other extended family and friends. Margaret also leaves behind her beloved cat, Jin Jin.
Services will be at 10:00 A.M. Monday, October 24, 2016 at Johnson-Overturf Chapel in Palatka with Rev. Eddie Parcher officiating. Visitation will be from 3-5 P.M. Sunday at Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home.
