Dr. Terrence Burton “Terry” Brauneck, passed from this life on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at Haven Hospice Roberts Care Center following an extended illness. A native of Toledo, Ohio, he resided in Palatka since 1983 moving here from Green Cove Springs where he had lived since 1976. A dentist for 40 years, Dr. Brauneck began practicing in Green Cove Springs in 1976 before building and establishing his own practice here in Palatka in 1982. He had continued working at the practice along with his son, Daniel until earlier this year. Dr. Brauneck was a member of the American Dental Association and the Florida Dental Association. He had also been a member of the Rotary Club of Palatka and later with the Sunrise Rotary Club. An avid outdoorsman and member of several area hunting clubs, Terry cherished his many dove hunts both locally and in Uruguay and Columbia. He also enjoyed fishing and time spent at the Palatka Skeet Club of which he was a member. Dr. Brauneck was likewise a devoted husband and father and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Palatka.
He was preceded in death by his parents Fred and Helen Brauneck and a brother, Timothy Brauneck.
Terry is survived by his wife of 43 years, Deborah Brauneck of Palatka, 2 sons, Matthew Brauneck of Palatka and Daniel Brauneck and wife Vanessa of St. Augustine, 2 brothers, Frederick Brauneck and wife Ruth of Manistee, MI and Bruce Brauneck and wife D’anna of Roby, TX, a sister-in-law, Rita J. Brauneck of Cleveland, OH and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorial services celebrating Terry’s life will be at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, November 5, 2016 at the First Baptist Church of Palatka with Dr. Vernon Harkey officiating.
